Alaska Home Improvement Grants

Alaska home improvement grants are available from the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for low income residents of rural Alaska who want to improve their houses.
The program is known as the Housing Preservation Grants initiative, and these grants can be used for a variety of repairs and renovations. For example, they can be used for things like adding weatherization, repair of existing structures on a property, and the installation and improvement of plumbing and bathroom facilities among many other applications. The grants are being offered through local intermediaries in rural Alaska such as tribal and local governments as well as nonprofit groups. These intermediaries are responsible for distributing funds to homeowners and qualified owners of apartment and other multi family rental properties which rent to low income tenants.
